I'm also noticing that the use of glass is so different between the Opera House and the other pictures in your post. It gave a different perspective!

Those buildings must be pretty new b/c older glass looses thousands of dollars worth of heat through lots of glass every day.

Yes, I think that smart, ecological, "green" buildings build to LEED specifications is becoming more prevalent with rising awareness of the fragility of our home planet.


The HHMI Janelia Farm building is an example of low-profile, low-impact architecture. There seems to be a field and gardens on the rooftop level.
