photoEssay on Light

alabaster & lead

What is more important to the artistic eye than the play of LIGHT on the rose petal-sized retina of "rods and cones"?

The warm translucence of rays through alabaster or the brilliant incandescent fire diffracted by crystal is best captured by virtual film.

I think you should do a picture a day kind of thing...or make it much more acessible.

Thanks, Janet.

Your photography is very interesting -- I like it (and I joined). What camera are you using? Is it digital? Looks too good to be digital. (Froma a former 35mm photographer.)

Thanks for becoming a Follower, Charlotte:

These are indeed from digital sources. Believe it or not, I have taken these with my Canon PowerShot and the on-board camera of my phone! Technology has come a looong way! I do have a Nikon SLR (film) that I enjoy using. I need to get a digital body so that I can use it with the great Nikon lenses...

The pastels "Fruits and Veggies" are of course, analog; the originals were scanned in.
